JOSE
CORTIZO
Devon Stone founder, Jose, established the business in 2004 with his late wife, Amy. Having worked as a management consultant and project manager for Pfizer, Defra and BP Amoco, Jose joined the stone industry as a project manager for Stoneguard, working on prestigious stone installations and restoration projects in the UK.
Since then, Devon Stone has grown, but Jose has remained true to the company’s founding values – quality, design excellence, and long-term partnerships. The When they founded Devon Stone, Amy and Jose’s mission was to supply their clients with the best possible quality natural stone and the widest range of finishes through selective global sourcing.
In the last 20 years, the single largest change has been the introduction of porcelain to Devon Stones offering, Which now represents an important element of the business. The same ethos with uncompromised quality and innovation has been applied to our partnerships in this sector, adding industry leaders such as Peronda , apavisa and living ceramics to our existing partner base of beltrami, bisazza, capietra and lapacida and schluter. Several of these partnerships stem from the early days of Devon Stone and they have endured due to our shared values.
When it comes to natural stone and porcelain, Jose is passionate about outstanding design, calibre of the materials and quality of installation. He is uncompromising in these areas. Jose is committed that we remain at the forefront of our industry in terms of design and quality, whilst developing the next generation of devon stone ambassadors.
MATTHEW
ROBINSON
After a global career in the textiles industry, Matt led Silent Gliss’ operations across Holland, Belgium, and Luxembourg, and gained a love for continental contemporary design. Matt returned to Britain to head up marketing and product development for the Silent Gliss UK market. A successful stint at the Swiss firm saw Matt build the product range, including collections with Kelly Hoppen, turning Silent Gliss into a retail-focused brand.
Matt’s passion for design culminated in 2006, when he returned to Devon and founded JAM Interiors with Jose, incorporating Devon Stone into the Group.
Today, Matt brings a strong design led ethos to Devon Stone and is responsible for ensuring that natural stone and porcelain sit perfectly within the context of an overall interiors scheme.
REBEKAH
MARR
Since studying Architecture at university, Rebekah gained hands-on experience working in an architectural practice, where she was involved in planning and visualisation across a range of projects. She later spent time working in residential developments, deepening her understanding of how design translates from concept to construction.
Since joining the team, Rebekah has developed a strong interest in the materials and finishes that define a space – particularly the curated range of products offered by Devon Stone. She is passionate about how natural stone and porcelain can elevate a design and is committed to helping clients find the right material that complements the design whilst providing technical input. Her goal is to ensure each material not only enhances the aesthetic but also meets the practical demands of the space.
TOBIAS
ASHMAN
After completing his Master’s in Architecture, Tobias began his career in an architecture practice, where he built a strong foundation in spatial design. Since joining the team, Tobias has developed a keen interest in interiors, with a particular focus on how products interact with the context and character of a space.
Skilled in visualisation tools such as SketchUp and CAD, Tobias excels at communicating the atmosphere and spatial quality of a design. His ability to bridge architecture and interiors helps bring clarity and cohesion to each project, ensuring spaces are both functional and thoughtfully crafted.

Our decorative installations blur the line between art and stone, featuring a dramatic six-metre stretch of book-matched marble, a basalt and copper water-jet cut tree installation, and a monumental mosaic wall depicting the Terracotta Warriors.
